I highly recommend this food dehydrator.  It is by far the best and a must have for healthy eating.  Most dehydrated foods are full of nitrates and other unsavory ingredients.  The Excalibur makes fantastic food and has a fabulous warranty.
  • Banana Chips (make sure they are very ripe - tastes like candy)
  • Apple Chips (try with cinnamon on top)
  • Fruit Leather (try using apple sauce)
  • Dog Treats (sweet potato, meat, etc)
  • Jerky (beef, venison, etc.)
  • Vegetable Spices (dry your veggies & put in a food processor)
  • Rising Bread
  • The options are endless

Pear Mango Smoothie - Sooo Sweet and Delicious

Oh wow, this might be the best tasting smoothie I've ever made!!!  It's so sweet and delectable.  The subtly of the pear with the mango is such a great flavour combination.

Pear Mango Smoothie

I used a regular sized blender for this recipe.

  • 1 Mango
  • 1 Large Pear
  • 1/4 c Frozen Blueberries (or fresh)
  • 1 Apple
  • Fill with Apple Cider until the fruit is almost covered
  • 2-3 tbsp blend of (hemp hearts, bee pollen, chia (ground), buckwheat (ground), flax (ground)

Cherry, Grape, & Avocado Smoothie

Cherry, Grape, & Avocado Smoothie

Use a full sized blender for this recipe.

  • 1 Avocado
  • About 40 Red Grapes
  • About 30 Cherries, pitted
  • Basically the grapes and cherries filled it to about 2/3 full
  • 1 tbsp Bee Pollen
  • 1 tbsp Hemp Hearts
  • 1 tsp Buckwheat, ground in coffee grinder
  • 1 tsp Chia Seeds, ground
  • 1 tsp Flax Seeds, ground
  • Apple Cider (fill to 2" from the top)

Blend well in the blender.  Mine is a Cuisinart, 500 watts and it does a great job.

Apple Chips & Leather - Just Apples & Cinnamon

These make such a great snack and are great for people with dietary limitations and those on an Elimination Diet.  Plus, my kids love them.

Greenish Smoothie

I call this a greenish smoothie, because when I think of a green smoothie, I think really green things like spinach, kale, etc.  I wasn't sure how this would turn out, but I quite like it.

Greenish Smoothie

  • 1 Avocado
  • 1 Mango
  • 1-2 tbsp fresh Cilantro
  • 1" peeled Cucumber
  • 1 cup Green Grapes
  • 1 tbsp Bee Pollen
  • 1 tbsp Hemp Hearts

Slow Cooked Apple Venison

Finally, a good supper.  I modified an old recipe and it turned out great!!!  Phew, after yesterday's catastrophe, I was a little worried.

Slow Cooked Apple Venison

  • 3 Venison Steaks or any other cut
  • 2 cups apple juice
  • 1 onion, diced
  • a touch of Herbamare
  • 1 carrot, peeled & cut into 1/2" slices
  • 1 sweet potato, peeled & cut into 1" cubes

Unfortunately, many of my usual smoothie must haves are a no no, so I had to do some improvising.  I'm sad to see my bananas, pineapple, orange juice, and agave nectar leave the mix, but I am experimenting with some new things.
